Payment FAQ's

This FAQ applies to all Wildfish Swim school lessons and Abbots Hill School. For payment details about Watford Swim School – Stud Green please CLICK HERE

Initial Payment by Card

Once you have booked up to lessons, your initial payment will be taken by card over the phone or through our online system. The initial payment is for a notice payment covering your last 4 lessons and a pro rata payment to take you to your first regular payment.

Card payment

On the first of every month your payment will be taken from your bank account. The payment taken will be for the month in advance and you will be charged for the lessons that are scheduled to take place during the month.

Please look at our website or your member hub for prices. If you ever want to change lesson type or leave, all you have to do is give us one months’ notice and remove your card details from the system.

Payment Policy

When booking with us you will need to make payment prior to the lesson taking place, to secure your space.

7 days before the end of the month each swimmer will receive a payment invoice. On the first of every month payment will be taken from the card that is on our system . If payment is late or bounces there will be a £5 late fee. If you wish to change lesson type or leave, all you have to do is give us one months’ notice to change or remove your card details from the member hub.

What is a pro-rata fee?

A pro-rata fee is a one-off payment that is paid when you book your lessons. This payment covers the cost of swimming lessons until the date of your first automated monthly card payment. This amount will vary depending on what date of the month you join the programme and how many lessons are due to take place before your first card payment is due.

Will I be tied to a contract?

The card payment option plan is a rolling 30-day contract. The terms and conditions can be found on our website but there are no hidden admin fees. You do not have to pay for a minimum term; however, we do ask for 30 days’ notice (which is paid in advance as a deposit) if you wish to cancel your lessons.

How do I cancel?

All cancellations must be made via email to info@wildfishswimschool.com or to your member hub area which you will have access to once you’ve completed your booking. We have a 7 day cooling off period, so if you cancel within 7 days of booking, we’ll refund 100% of your payment provided this is more than 7 days before the start of the course

Beyond the 7 days of your payment,  you may cancel at any time and your child’s place will be cancelled immediately. No further payments will be processed against your card (no credits or refunds will be given for any reason).

What about bank holidays and times when the swimming pool is closed for other events?

Your child’s lessons may on occasion be due to take place on bank holidays or the swimming pool we hire to provide lessons maybe unavailable on occasion.  If this occurs, we will make the necessary adjustment to your next card payment to take into consideration the cancellation of the lesson. The learn to swim programme also has breaks for school holidays e.g. Christmas, Easter , these weeks are removed from the price in advance.

What happens if I don’t pay my card payment and the payment defaults?

In the unfortunate event that your card payment fails, we will attempt to contact you to take payment or ask you to make another payment in the member hub area. If the account is not brought back up to date within this period, then we will class this as non-payment. This will result in you being removed from the programme. To avoid confusion and disappointment, please make sure payment is made as soon as possible, as we will not be able to teach anyone that is no longer on the register.

What if you need to cancel a lesson and I am due a refund?

If lessons have to be cancelled due to a technical issue with the swimming pool or any other reason, a credit or refund will be given.

In the unlikely event that we will need to refund you, we will make an adjustment to your next card payment  or if it is to short notice to make an adjustment, then we will endeavour to make the adjustment to your next available scheduled payment.

What happens if I cannot attend a lesson?

Unfortunately, we cannot refund or credit lessons for the occasional missed lessons. However, we do have a refund / credit policy if the swimmer is unable to attend their lessons over a sustained period of time due to a medical condition.
