Non-swimmers and weak swimmers may swim without armbands provided the teacher checks on them regularly

It may take a few weeks to arrange a suitable space, and the swimmer will continue to benefit from lessons and progression within their current class in the meantime.

Why is it important to do the registers before the start of every lesson? *

If a swimmer becomes trapped by their hair, clothing or body part against a pool fitting at Watford Swim School, what should you do? (Page 14, EAP) *

Pull the swimmer firmly away from the fitting as quickly as possible
Shout for assistance, activate the pool alarm, immediately stop the pool circulation pump (in the plant room), clear the pool and support the casualty’s airway above water
Clear the pool and wait for the Duty Manager before attempting to release the swimmer
