All year round lessons - FAQ
As part of our new agreement with Abbot's Hill School, they asked us to run swimming lessons all year round rather than just during term time to ensure that the swimming pool is fully utilised by the community.
To enable us to continue offering lessons at Abbot's Hill and maintain our long-standing partnership with the school, we’ve agreed to this request.
Please note that lessons will remain term-time only at all of our other locations – this change applies to Abbot's Hill School only.
No — your monthly payment method stays the same. Lessons still billed on 1st of each month for the sessions taking place that month. Your payment date and the process remain unchanged, so you should see no disruption.
We will not run lessons over Christmas holidays, the Easter weekend and all bank holidays.
We’ll publish the full 2026 lesson calendar (including all break dates) on our website so you can plan ahead with ease. The link to our term dates are HERE
Monthly invoices will continue as usual. In months that include a break, your payment will simply cover the lessons scheduled to take place within that month — just as it does now.
We completely understand that many families take holidays or have other commitments during school breaks.
Just like other continuous services (TV subscriptions), lesson payments will continue while your space is reserved, even if you choose not to attend during that period.
If you’d prefer not to pay for lessons if you know you are away, that’s absolutely fine, we can pause your payments with 2 weeks’ notice. However, we can’t guarantee a class for the same day, time, or swimming teacher will be available when you return. We’ll always do our best to find you the closest available space as soon as possible.
No – your lessons will remain the same, they will just run for more weeks per year.
Please send us an email to info@watfordswimschool.com with the date of when you would like your last lesson to be. This will be confirmed once you receive an email back from us. We are unable to book you back in ahead of time, this can only be arranged 6 days in advance of the day you would like to return. [see section on “How do I start back lessons after I’ve paused?”]
Your notice payment/left over credit will be kept on your account and will be deducted when you book back onto lessons.
You can look online at spaces available and book back on to an available space (in a suitable class). We ask that you book back onto the same stage you left unless advised otherwise.

Re-bookings can be made up to 6 days in advance of when you wish to start back.
Yes, there are no changes to our standard T&C’s. If you wish to cancel your lessons, please do so by email and wait for email confirmation to confirm this has been actioned.
